この映画はもうコメントいらないでしょ。ストーリーはわかっていて観に行きましたが、それでも涙しちゃう。別れの時は悲しい、再開した時は生きていた良かった、会えて良かった、素直にそう思える作品だと思います。

「山古志村のマリと三匹の子犬」のマリちゃんに会いに行って来ましたワン

ある日、亮太と彩は1匹の捨てられた子犬を見つける。マリと名付けられたその雌犬は、石川家の新たな家族となった。翌年となる2004年、すっかり成長したマリは3匹の子犬を産み、亮太と彩は毎日を元気に過ごしていた。そして、迎えた10月23日の午後5時56分。

ふと、立ち寄った本屋でみつけた本でした。
電車の中で、ぐしぐし涙を流しながら読みました。
おじいさんが、あんなに頼んだのに連れて逃げることができませんでした。
だーっと涙がっ。
私たち親子と新潟山古志村との出会いは、2008年にさかのぼる。
「あっ！日本の映画がやっているよ。」偶然通りかかった映画館で足を止めた。普段あまり映画を見ない私たちの目は、「中越大地震」と大きく書かれた文字 に、釘付けとなった。

「これから、もっと仕方のないことに出会う。そういうことを、ひとつひとつ乗りこえていく。それが生きていくということなんだ。」
これは、新潟県中越地震が起きた次の日に、主人公亮太のお父さんが言った言葉です。私は、この言葉に強くむねを打たれました。同時に、初めて、「生きていく」ということに真剣に向き合うことができました。
この奇跡の物語は全国に波紋を呼んだ。テレビに取り上げられ、絵本『山古志村のマリと三匹の子犬』（文芸春秋刊・写真下）になり、アニメになり、そして映画化された。
